Rejection will end Constitution project.

Ex-German Chancellor Helmut Kohl’s foreign affairs consultant Joachim Bitterlich has an article in Le Figaro in which he says that, “the rejection of the Constitution by one of the member states will lead to the failure of the project and a return to Nice… In the past, following the failure of referendums in Denmark and in Ireland, the EU went down the road of ‘supplementary interpretation’ to respond to national demands and worries from these countries by helping them to organise another referendum. Could there be the same approach if there was a failure in one of the ‘big’ countries? I don’t think so.”
