Claudia von Werlhof (b. 1943) is one of the pioneers who have established the academic subject of research into women's issues. She has work in research projects in several countries. 1984 she finished her habilitation at the university Frankfurt. Her thesis dealt with questions concerning woman and agriculture in third world countries. Since 1988 she is working at the university in Innsbruck holding the chair for research into women's issues.
She is also working practically and theoretically to question concerning globalization and alternatives from the civil society.
