Preparations:
Spreading leaflets in Amsterdam

Lena from Poland, Mila from Czech Republic, Paul From the UK, Peter from Sweden, Miriam from Slovakia and Thomas from Germany spread leaflets in the centre of Amsterdam

One day before the planned conference, just after flying from London, the ENC team started spreading leaflets in Amsterdam’s city centre. Wearing the same T-shirts make us very visible on the streets and gave us a lot of attention. Six people from six European countries talking with the general public about the European constitution – this was something no one expected.

99% of people we talked to said they are sure they will vote no in the forthcoming referendum. They were complaining about the government spending too much money on a propaganda campaign instead of giving them real information about the treaty.

Dutch voters were very interested it the situation in different countries and were very pleased to hear they are not the only ones rejecting the treaty.
